Our vacation rental home is located in west Phoenix (Glendale) on the Villa De Paz Golf course and is a conveniently located sport's fan retreat.  It has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, with a 2 car garage and sleeps 6 - 8 (1 king, 1 queen, 2 sets of bunk beds).  It was recently remodeled (June/July 2011) inside and out and is completely furnished with everything you need to make it your comfortable home away from home (including a 42" LCD satellite TV with surround sound, BluRay player, and an IPod docking station in the living room).  There is WI-FI throughout the house as well as a wireless printer for your use.  The kitchen is fully equipped with all the utensils, bowls, bake ware, pots and pans you need for cooking large or small meals (including an espresso machine, coffee grinder, coffee maker with a washable filter, crock pot, electric fry pan, toaster, blender, roaster, hand mixer, microwave, dishwasher, and side by side refrigerator with ice and water in the door).   Also included is all the linens, blankets, and bedding you will need, a washer and dryer, blow dryer, curling iron, ironing board, iron, several board games, a phone (with an answering machine) for local calls, as well as an easy to use security system. The patio features a propane BBQ, several chairs, tables, and a fire pit.  It is a lovely place to drink your morning coffee or latte and watch the golfers.  The house is 10 minutes from the Glendale Airport and conveniently located just a couple minutes from the 101 Loop for easy access to the Phoenix and Mesa airports.

Most importantly, the house is a 5 minute drive to the University of Phoenix - NFL Cardinal's stadium (home of the Fiesta Bowl and Super bowl 49 in 2015!) and Jobing.com arena home to the NHL Phoenix Coyotes (as well as a venue for several popular concert tours throughout the year including the Red Hot Chili Peppers on September 25, 2012).  It is less than 2 miles to the LA Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox - Cactus League Spring Training camp at Camelback Ranch.   All this without ever having to get on the Interstate (Loop 101).  The Peoria Sports Complex (12 miles away) hosts the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariner's for spring training.  A 16 mile drive gets you to the Surprise Stadium hosting the Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers.

The house backs to the 7th hole (Par 4) of the famous Villa De Paz Golf course which has been labeled the best, most affordable, 18 holes in Phoenix.  It is a 6700 yard, par 72, parkland style layout with 10 of the 18 holes featuring water and is challenging for every skill level.  The course has mature trees throughout allowing for lots of shade when golfing the summer months. 

For all you race fans, the Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) is just 11 miles away in nearby Avondale.  This newly repaved and reconfigured, 1 mile, oval track is hosting the NASCAR Sprint Cup on November 9-11, 2012.  This raceway hosts several NASCAR and Indy events throughout the year!

If you are in the area to shop and dine, the Westgate City Center (next to the stadiums) boasts several of our favorite restaurants - Jimmy Buffet's MargaritaVille, The Yard House, the Saddle Ranch Chop House (great ribs and steaks) as well as a Cold Stone Creamery and an IMAX theater.  Also near the shopping center is the famous Cabelas and another one of our favorite eateries - the Native New Yorker known for amazing pizza and wings.  In March 2012, construction on a the new 85 store, high-end, Tangent Outlet Mall began.  The mall is located within walking distance of the stadiums and Westgate and is scheduled to be completed by November.  Downtown Glendale is well known for its old town style shopping experience.  Just down the street from the house is Tortas Paquime serving absolutely the best authentic Mexican food made fresh each day (including many wonderful homemade desserts and ice creams).  Across the parking lot from it is a Starbucks for all you coffee lovers.  For dining in, there is a Fry's grocery store less than a mile away from the house.   There is a lot to see and experience in Phoenix and the surrounding area (the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Lake Havasu, Las Vegas, and Disneyland are all just a few hours away).
